Day Center Hara I offers a friendly and structured environment to people with autism from the age of 16 years old.
The Day Center was initially housed in the Elementary School of the village of Hara, which was provided for use by the Municipality of Kileler (former Municipality of Nikaia). Since August 2016, it has been housed in Neapoli, Larissa, in a new building funded by the Prefecture of Thessaly and granted by the Municipality of Larissa.
Educational, pre-vocational and recreational activities are provided within the center or in the community. Our purpose is that people with autism, participating in the program, develop existing and new skills in order to become as independent as possible. Based on their needs and desires, an Individualized Educational Plan is designed, that aims to develop the following skills:
- Communication and social skills
- Pre-vocational skills
- Psychomotor skills
- Life skills
- Social skills
- Behavioural management
- Recreation
